Rick Angel has over 20 years experience specializing in leasing, buying, selling, financing and development of office, industrial, retail and multi-family residential real estate. A former partner and chair of the real estate department at a prominent, 175 attorney firm, Mr. Angel has represented Fortune 500 companies, business entities and individual owners, developers and tenants on a national, regional and local basis.

Prior to founding Angel Law Offices,
Mr. Angel served as General Counsel and Executive Vice President of an entrepreneurial, publicly-traded, financial services company, where he led a team of 4 executives and 160 employees in the business operations, information technology, human resources and legal divisions.

Mr. Angel has lectured on various real estate topics and has published articles on numerous subjects, including Purchase and Sale of Commercial Real Estate (8 week course offered through the University of California at Los Angeles); Leasing Commercial Real Estate (8 week course offered through the University of California at Los Angeles); Letters of Intent in Real Estate Transactions – When is Non-Binding Binding?; Expediting Real Property Sales; Negotiating Exclusions from Common Area Maintenance Expense Provisions; Using Requests for Proposals to Lease Premises; Negotiating Lease Take-Over Agreements; Negotiating the AIR Commercial Real Estate Association Purchase Agreement – Issues for Buyers and Sellers.

Richard Gee

Richard Gee is of counsel to the firm and has over 18 years experience specializing in leasing, buying, selling, financing and development of office, industrial and retail real estate. Mr. Gee advises on property acquisition, 1031 exchanges, title issues, financing, construction, leasing, land use and redevelopment matters. He also has several years experience representing hospitality management companies as well as hospitality and resort properties.

Additionally, Mr. Gee maintains an active corporate and intellectual property practice with multi-media internet, entertainment and technology companies. A native Spanish speaker, Mr. Gee has represented several Latin-American companies in real estate and business matters both in the United States and in Latin America.

While serving as an executive for a financial institution, Ms. Kates negotiated joint venture agreements, commercial leasing documents and oversaw real estate acquisitions and dispositions. Ms. Kates also worked as an office manager and paralegal for a prestigious law firm.
